WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. (Special Reporter). The first day of the Wairarapa Racing Club's meeting was held on the Tauherenikau Racecourse yesterday. There was a record attendance, a large number being present from Wellington. During tho day £9992 was put through the machine against £8278 for the corresponding day last year. Mr E. A. This was a beautiful start. Seagull and Aberration and Royal Blue shot to the front first. At the bend Ghoorka and Cyrus fell, and took no further part in the race. Past the stand the order was Aberration, Seagull and Royal Blue. Out of the straight Aberration slightly increased bis lead, while Royal Blue displaoed Seagull. Along the back Aberration still held the lead with Royal Blue close up. Boris moved up into fourtb place with Spoil nexiv Round the bend Boris displaced Royal Blue, and shortly after collared Aberration, who was being ridden, tfhe latter made a gallant attempt to get on even terms with Boris, but the latter staved off the challenge and won without the whip by one and ahalf length, a length separating second and third. -Then finished Spoil, Silverlene, Martian and Seagull in that order. An objection was lodged, and the Stewards had no power but to sustain the protest, Ropa receiving the second money. In tne Hurdles Apiti ran first, but was disqualified for interference. W.
