SAD DROWNING ACCIDENT. Received January 2, 1.30 a.m f SYDNEY, January 1. Two girls named Jamieson were paddling.in the river near Gundagai when they got out of their depth. Their father went to their assistance, but all ' "iree were drowned. REVENUE RETURNS. Received January 1, 10.4 p.m. SYDNEY, January 1. The revenue for the half-year shows an increase of £404,000. MELBOURNE, January 1. The increase in the revenue for the half-year totalled £70,000 compared with the preceding year. The actual revenue is, however, £5,000below the Treasurer's estimate. ADELAIDE, January 1. The revenue for the half year shows a falling off of £9300.
