Mr. Roger Anderson, who played a fine game and scored a try for Auckland in their match with "Wellington Rugby representatives last week, met with an accident in which he was perhaps fortunate in not meeting with serious injury. On Thursday he was returning from Kaitoke in a car with Mr. O. Brown, when a collision with a lorry occurred near Korokoro. The car was badly smashed but the occupants suffered from shock and minor injuries only. It was thought Mr. Anderson would not be fit to play on Saturday, but hs did so and gave the selectors for the New Zealand team something to think over.

TE MAItUA. An enjoyable evening was spent at the fortnightly dance held at Te Marua School last Friday. Mrs. H. Benge was an efficient pianiste, while Mr. A. Whiteman proved popular with his accordeon. Miss G. Woodward played an extra. Mr. A. Greensla.de was the M.C. and kept the dances going-. Ping-pong tables and a "Bobs" board were erected for non-dancers and children, and were kept occupied all the evening. Our next dance will be on September 4th, when it is hoped we will have a full attendance. Mr. Bowers' free lorry will leave Upper Hutt P.O. at 8 p.m.
