PICNICKERS DELAYED.
A mill hand narrowly escaped injury on Sunday last, when a large tree crashed on to Campbell's Mill Road, The mill hand was riding past the spot when a large tree fell down the cliff face, blocking the road about two miles past the junction with the Akatarawa Gorge road. Many Wellington residents who 'were making motor-car trips along the road were unable to pass the spot. A party of bushmen from the mill found some difficulty in clearing the obstruction, the work being hampered by a swarm of bees which inhabited the tree.
