LOCAL NOTES
On Tuesday, March 10th, the R.S.A. are holding a big Coster Ball, the first of its kind held in the district. The committee are working hard to make this a huge success. Prizes are offered. for the best Arry and Arriet. The Upper Hutt Volunteer Fire Brigade received two calls within a few days, one on Sunday evening and the other- on Tuesday afternoon. The Brigade made a very smart "turn-out" in both instances. It is stated that they "were on their -way to the fire - in one instance within one and a half minutes after the sounding of the alarm. A Garden Fete, in the interests of the Silvei-stream and Trentham Presbyterian Churches, is being held on Saturday, the 7th March, at the home of Mrs. Ridling, "Glen Iris," Main Road, Heretaunga. The organisers, -who have not spared themselves in their effoi-ts to make the occasion a success, are providing- a large variety of popular and novel attractions.
