UPPER HUTT BOWLING CLUB.
The Upper Hutt Bowling- Club was at home to the Masterton Club on Sunday last, and some enjoyable games were played. Good weather prevailed and the four rinks engaged were in excellent condition. Mr. P. Davis, in extending- a welcome to the visitors, referred to the wonderful time given the Upper Hutt Club last season when they visited Masterton, and he hoped that the games would be very enjoyable. Three rounds of four games each were played and the local team was successful in winning- nine out of the twelve. Upper Hutt team were skipped by J. Brown, H. Lynch, E. Mudgway, and S. Bx-ig-gs. Brown won 3 games, Biggs 2, Lvnch 2, Mudgway 2. Afternoon tea -was served by the Misses Cooke. The final for the champion singles was played off on Monday afternoon and resulted in a win foi- G. Guthrie, after- an exti-a head, who beat P. Quinn by 21 to 19. The champion pairs for the season are Goodwin and Lightfoot, who defeated Biggs and Mudgway in the final. Messrs. Guthrie, Goodwin and Lightfoot -will represent the Upper Hutt Club in the Champion of Champions to be played at Wellington.
