DEPARTURE OF WELL-KNOWN RAILWAY SERVANT.

Mr. J. Rae, member of the N.Z. Railway Service, who has resided in Uuper Hutt for many years, has been promoted as Stationmaster at Featherston, and has left the district to take up his new duties. Mr. Rae, who is very well-known in the district, -will be greatly missed at the different card tournaments, especially by the Upper Hutt railway team, where he has been one of the leaders in the Tremaine Shield for several years. Our congratulations go out to both Mr. and Mrs. Rae in their new sphere, and their friends wish them the best of luck. Mrs. Rae will be specially missed by the congregations of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she ■was a consistent attendant and enthusiastic helper on all occasions.
