HOME AND SCHOOL DANCE.
The Upper Hutt Home and School Association are holding a dance on Anniversary Night, when dancers ■will be . assured of a right royal evening. The Committee of the above have been running a series of "weekly dances for some considerable time, their object in view being funds for carrying on the good work of the school. The capitation at present is not sufficient for the School Committee to carry out their work satisfactorily. It is sincerely hoped that the new Government will go into the capitation grants made to the Schools and see the difficulties that School Committees have been -working under for some years. In the meantime, parents, think of your children and go along to the dance or send a donation, to keep the flag flying. It might be stated in passing that the ■whole of the dances during the past year at the school have been run by a small sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. C. Harris, A. Robinson, G. Wale, C. R. Stoud and Mesdaraes Harris, Weatherley, Robinson and Simpson. Thanks are due to them for endeavouring to raise money to carry on the duties of the school. Don't forget Tuesday, January 22nd, 1936.
