WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.
Entertainment at the Salvation Army Old Men's Home. Tha Wallaceville Branch of the Women's Institute gave a very enjoyable afternoon to the inmates of the Salvation Army Old Men's Home last week. Major Eimmer, in thanking- the members of the Institute, remarked that Wallaceville was the first Old Men's Home in New Zealand, and that the Wallaceville Women's Institute was the first to entertain in the Home. Col. McCauley also addressed the assembly and expressed his appreciation of the kind thoug-ht which had prompted the Women's Institute to give the entertainment at the Home. Mr. Jones, 87 years of age (the oldest member of the. Home) moved a vote of thanks and this was replied to by the President of the Branch (Mrs. Queeree). Following' are the items given by the Branch : Institute song - ; pianoforte solo (Spring-), Mrs. Queeree; toe dance, Baby Karth; skipping rope dance, Shirley Deenes. We invite our readers to collaborate with us in making - this paper a success by forwarding reports of any social or personal items likely to interest their fellow readers. Secretaries of organisations are particularly requested to furnish us with a full report of their proceedings.
