LATER AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
Bluff, February 18th.
The Omeo has arrived, having left Melbourne at 2.30 p.m., on the 13th instant. She reached the Bluff at 7.30 p.m., on the 18th, and brings 32 saloon and 28 steerage passengers ; 250 tons cargo, 45 horses, and 160 rams (all ports). There is no later English news than that brought by the Albion. Melbourne, February 13. During the last few days the rain has fallen in such torrents as to flood the lowlying streets, but the atmosphere still continues close. A Royal Commission on Friendly Societies has baen appointed. The wrock of the Blencathra was sold for £11,300. Miss Kinninmont, daughter of the Presbyterian minister, has died from the effects of accidental burning. Mortality amongst young children continues. O' Parrel's case has been partly heard, and adjourned until Monday. Ella won the Hobart Town Cnp ; distance, two miles. Sydney, February 13. Mr. Parks is about visiting New Zealand.
