Yotraro Cltde is by Thane of Clyde, out of Black Polly, who was imported to Victoria, and sold for tho sum of £220 ; grand-sire, the renowned champion horse, Prince Charlie, who was never beaten in Scotland or the Australian Colonies. Ho was imported to Victoria by J. and M. Mackintosh j granddam, the far-famed and renowned Black Diamond (imported), winner of the Port Phillip Farmers' Society Challenge Cup for seven years in succession, and never suffered defeat. She was the property of J. Kearnon, Esq., Moonee Ponds. . i YorifG Clyde was got by Thane of Clyde, imported by Hugh JU'Lean, Esq. He gained Ist prize at the Southland Show, ISB7 ; Ist prize at Tokoinaiuiro, 18G3 ; 2nd prize at the Taieri, the samo year ; • and Ist prize at the Molyueux, 1869. He was taken back to Victoria, and was sold there for £500 to go to Canterbury, but died at tha Bluff. Young Clyde is a dark chesnut, stands 18 hands high, with plenty of bone and substance, and is, without doubt, the surest foal-getter in the Province. His stock has been sold in Dunedin market at £120 for two two-year-olds, thus proving that he does not disgrace his ancient lineage.
