{From our Special Reporter.) Tapastti, January 28. Maiden Plate. — Sonnambula, 1 ; Sultana, • 0. Both went to the post, Sonnambula cantering rouud for the slakes. Tapanui Handicap. — Right Bower, 1 ; Traitor 2 ; Stackpole, 3. Three started. Right Bower won easily. BuiiiocK Deiters' Race. — Perry's Sultana, 1. District Handicap. — Bismarck, 1 ; Dido, 2. Mr. Monaghan declared to win with Bismarck. Selling Hack Race. — Jenny Lind, 1. Htjbbt ScußftY. — Jenny Lind won this race, beating Burgundy and Star of the South. Second Dat. The weather to-day was fine, and the attendance moderate. Great disappointment was expressed at. the small acceptance for the Jockey Club Handicap, only two being left, and they belonged to the same owner. Traitor was scratched at 11 a.m., owing to his having gone wrong. Handicap Hubdle Race. — Kildare, 1 ; Dido, 2 ; Unknown, 3. Bismarck and Unknown fell, the former at the first hurdle. The riders — A. M'Kay and James Malone — were both severely shaken and bruised, although not seriously hurt. TapAntti Jockey Club Handicap.— Mr. Coombe's two were the only horses left, Traitor having been scratched at 11 o'clock in the morning. Flying Dutchman and Right Bower cantered and walked round for first and second money. Flying Dutchman coming in first. I Fxykjg Handicap.— Flying Dutchman, 1; Envy, 2 ; Sonnambula, 3 : Bismarck, 0. This was a good race. The Dutchman won by two lengths. " Hack Race.— Gaslight, 1 ; Cleaver, 2. Color Sergeant won the first heat^asily ; but ran off the course in the second, an-1 was distance;!. Consolation Stakes. — Stackpole, 1 ; Envy, 2 ; Traitor, 3. This race was won by a length and a half.
