Commercial.
Messrs. Capstick, Duthie and Co. report having sold for the week ending- Monday 25th January : — Our private sales have been i acre section in township of Milton, with shop thereon, £355 ; 434 merino ewes, unshorn, with about 180 lambs at foot, 9s 6d each ; 65 head of mixed cattle, at £3 2s 6d per head.
Sales by auction in our own Rooms and Yards, Thursday, January 21st, 1875. Growing crops.— on account of Walter Miller, Esq., — Oats, on the Wookhetl road, at £6 per acre. Ou account of James Carmichael. — 30 acres of oats (straw to be left on the ground) at £4 5s per acre ; 17 acres of oats (straw to be left on the ground) at £4 2s per acre ; 6 acres of wheat (straw to be left on the ground £4 6s per acre. Land. — Sections G, 7, and 8, block 11,, Waitahuna west, 142 acres at £2 per acre. Sheep. — 62 crossbred fat ewes and wethers, at 12s 6d each ; 65 merino ewes (stores), at 7s each ; 300 crossbred store wethers, 11s 6d ea<h.
Cattle. — Dairy cows brought from £3 15s to £4 17s Gil each.
Horses. — On account of Mr. Alexander Simpson. — 1 two year old black filly by Farmers' Favorite, £65 ; 1 two-year old grey filly by Marquis, £65 ; 1 two-year old bay filly by Q-lengary £50 10s; 2 two-year old black fillies, one by Marquib and one by Comet, £73 10s ; 1 two-year old bay filly by Champion, £39 ; 1 two-year old grey filly, £30 j 7 rcarling colts aud fillies brought from £16 to £21 each ; 5 light colts and fillies (yearlings) from £9 5s to £14 10s each; 11 other horses were sold, ranging from £12 10s to £33 each, at Murphy's yards, Kaitangata, on Friday 22nd January ; 57 head of store cattle at £4 9s each.
