{From our ovm Correspondent.) Dunedin. January 22nd.

In the Supreme Court to-day the case of Blakely v. Rowland, in which the plaintiff seeks to recover £1000 damages, on the ground of the latter having falsely imprisoned and prosecuted him at the Criminal sessions held in October 1874, was proceeded with. The remainder of the immigrants by the Wild Deer were conveyed to town this afternoon. It was stated by a member of a deputation which waited on the Superintendent this morning, Regarding the bad state of the Peninsula road, that he had no less than three axles broken this week. This is worse than country roads yet. Additional English news by the City of Melbourne states that the' Cospatrick relief fund has reached £2575. The New Zealand Government subscribes £1000. The attempts of Marshal M'Mahon to form a new Ministry have failed, but the present cabinet have consented to retain office provisionally.
