"(From our own Correspondent.) THE PALMER GOLDFIELD. We received the following telegram on.Sunday from J. C. Brown, Esq, M.H.R. r who is"' on a visit to the Palmer Goldfield :— * '' Bluff, January 10. Cardwell, Queensland, January 3, 1875. There is much sickness at the diggings. Numbers are dying, and many returning. There are no fresh discoveries. The ground is all alluvial, and quickly exhausted. Caution people against coming.
