Mr. Aitken intends going largely into this business, not only in Lawrence, but throughout the country districts of Tapanui, Teviot, Waitahuna, Waipori, and surrounding neighbourhood. For this purpose he has secured the services of a first-class cutter, and. several good practical workmen. We were also shown a sewing machine' on a large scale, which executes its work with, great precision and rapidity, without in any way injuring the material or fracturing the silk or thread used in the manufacture.
