Nominations for the Hurdle, Tapanui, and Jockty Club Handicaps must be made to the Secretary at the Commercial Hotel, Tapanui, on or Wore 8 p.m., on Saturday, 2nd January, 18^5. Weights for the Tapanui and Hurdle Handicaps will be declared in the " G-uardan" and Tttapeka Times, of the 13th January 1875. Weights for the Jockey Club and Firing Handicap's" will l« declared on the nighfc of the first day's racing ; general entries to be mode at the, Commercial Hotel, #n Wednesday, 27th January, before 8 p.m. Dunedin Jockey Club Rules will be Btrictly adhered to. All entries and acceptances must be in sealed covers addressed to the Secretary, and contain entrance money, sweepswifces, description of pedigree and age of horse, and colors to be worn by jockey. A penalty of 2 soys. will be enforced for riding in wrong colors. No person to enter a horse unless he be a subscriber of not less than two guineas to the funds ; and no person to nominate unless both owner and nominator be subscribers of the same amount. In the event of any person entering a protest, the sum of £2 2s. must be lodged with the Secretary before Buch protest is considered ; this sum to be forfeited tothe funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all moneys paid in accordance with the programme for expenses. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out ' of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint. All business entrusted to the Company will have the personal care and attention of the undersigned, who will continue to conduct the following regular sales :— At Kaikorai Yards, every Wednesday, at eleven o'clock, of fat*. Cattle, Sheep, Lambs, &c, Otago Wool and Produce Stores, every Wednesday, at three o'clock, of wool, Sheepskins, Hides, Tallow, Flax, Ac, &c, Mosgiel Market Yards, the Third Tuesday in each Month, of live Stock of all descriptions.
