All disputes, claims, and objections (.arising "out of the racing shall be decided by; the Stewards, 1 ' or whoever they may ' appoint. • 'Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out o£ the programme shall be final, " • No person shall be allowed to enter or run a horse for any race iv this programme (post entry^races escepted) unless both owner and nominator be subscribers to the Race Fund of, not less than two guineas. " Entries to be received by the Secretary, at his office, up to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, 20th January. Entrance money, enclosed with • name,- age, and pedigree (if any) of the horse, and name of owner and colors of the rider. Any Jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined £2. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all B%kes for expenses. Horses walking over will receive 50 per pent, of the stakes. The Tuapeka Jockey Club Rules will be strictly enforced. Young Clyde is by Thane of Clyde, out of Black Polly, who was imported to Victoria, and sold for the • sum of £220 ; grand-sire, the renowned champion hoi-se Prince Charlie, who was never beaten in Scotland or the Australian Colonies.- -He was imported to Victoria by J. and M. Mackintosh ; granddam, tho far-famed and renowned Black Diamond (imported), winner of the Port Philip Farmers' Society Challenge Cup for seven years in succession, and never suffered defeat. • She was tho property of J. Kearnon, Esq., Moonee Pouds. Young Clyde was got by Thane of Clyde, imported by Hugh M'Lean, Esq. He gained Ist prize at the Southland Show, 1867; Ist prize at Tokomairivo, 1868 ; 2nd prize at the Taieri, the same year j and Ist prize af the Molyneux, 1869. He was taken back to Victoria, and was sol 1 there for £500 to go to Canterbury, but die.l at the Bluff. ' Young Clyde is a dark chesnut, stands 18 hands high, with plenty of bone and sub ptance, and is, without doubt, the surest foalgetter in the Province. His stock has been pold iv Duuodin market at £120 for two two- \ ear-olds, thus proving that he dqes not disgrace his ancient lineage.
