Nomination, with 1 guinea enclosed, to be received by the Secretary up to 7 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 12th January. Weights to he declared in the TtfAPEKA Times of the 13th, and the " Otago Guardian " of the 14th. Acceptances, with 2 guineas, together with sweepstake of 2 guineas, to be received by the Secretary before 7 o'clock on Wednesday evening, January 20th, 1875. Distance, li mile. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall bo decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with tho carrying out of tho programme shall be final. No person shall be allowed to enter or run a horse for any race in this programme (post entry races excepted) unless Doth owner and nominator be subscribers to the Race Fund of not less than two guineas. Entries to be received by the Secretary, at his office, up to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, 20th January. Entranco money, enclosed with name, age, and pedigree (if any) of the horse, and name of owner and colors of the rider. Any Jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined £2. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes for expenses. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. The Tuapeka Jockry Club Rules will be strictly enforced. Parties entering protests will require to deposit one guinea. If protests should bo sustained, tho guinea to be returned. WM. Young Citde is by Thano of Oljdc, out of Black Polly, who was imported to Victoria, and sold for the sum of £220 ; grand-sire, the renowned champion horse Prince Charlie, who "was never beaten in Scotland or the Australian Colonies. He was imported to Victoria by J. and M. Mackintosh ; granddam, the far-famed and renowned "Black Diamond (imported), winner of the Port Philip Farmers' Society Challenge Cup for seven years in succession, and never suffered defeat. She was the property of J. Kearnon, Esq., Mooneo Ponds. Young Clyde was got by Thane of Clyde, imported by Hugh M'Lean, Esq. ' He gained Ist prizo at the Southland Show, 1867 ; Ist prize at Tokomairiro, 1868 ; 2nd prize at the Taieri, the same year ; and Ist prize at tho Molyneux, 1869. He was taken back to Vie- I toria, and was sold there for £500 to go to Canterbury, but died at tho Bluff. Yottng Clyde is a dark chesnut, stands 18 hands high, with plenty of bone and substance, and is, without doubt, the surest foalgetter in the Province. His slock has been sold in Dunedin market at £120 for two twoj ear-olds, thus proving that he does not disgrace his ancient lineage. Terms, £3, payable on the Ist February, 1875, or dCI extra will be charged after that date , Groomage, 55., payable at time of first service.
