WARDEN'S COURT, LAWRENCE.
(Before E. H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) - Monday, 23rd November. Squ'wes v. Davies. — Breach of the Goldfields' Eegulations in neglecting to renew water license. This was a friendly suit. ITined 55., in lieu of forfeiture, and costs of Court, Bs.' Monaghan v. P. and J. Duffy. — This was a suit of a similar nature, but the renewal of the license had been longer neglected. Fined 7s. 6d., and costs of Court, Bs. Mr. M'Coy for plaintiff. Monaghan v. W. Livingston, W. Evans, J. Elliott, and T. Elliott. — This was another suit of a similar nature. Mr. M'Coy for plaintiff. Fined 55., and costs of Court, 16s. The following applications for agricultural leases, adjourned from the last Court-day were granted : — Donald John M'Donald, for flections 33, 38, 39, 43, 44, 45, 48, and 49, block 11., Tuapeka East : A. M - Kinky, for sections 47, 182, and 183, block 11., Tnapeka East ; Daniel O'B?ipn, for section 29, blook VI., Tuapeka West ; James Keppell, for section 23, block VI.. Tuapeka West ; W. John Dyer (Mr. Gooday for applicants) for se ••- tion lof 26, block 11., Table Hill ; John Michael, fo: section 10, block VI., Tuapeka West. Ah Kit and others applied through Mr. King to divert Tuapeka Creek. Granted ; but not to interfere with Daffy's road. The applications of D. Davia and Thomas Spencer for residence areas wore each adjourned for the Warden to ■view the land. The applications of L. C. Holmes and William Robins for an agricultural lease of section 38, block 111., Tuapeka West, were adjourned to December 7th, as Robins was absent, and he was objected to by Honnes, Robins to pay 10s. costs William Smith's application for an agricultural lease of < i eetions 28 and 29, block U., Tuapeka West, was granted. John Hogg and J. W. Christiebo'h applied for section 17, block V., Tuapeka West. Mr. M'Coy appeared for Hogg. It appeared that Hogg had complied with the regulations, and Christie had not. Tho application of Hogg was therefore granted. George Brooks, Thomas Arthur, and T. E. Williams applied for an agricultural lease of section 9, block 111., Tuapeka West. Sir. M'Coy for Brooks ; and Mr. Gooday for Arthur and Williams. Messrs. Arthur and Williams withdrew, and the application of Brooks was granted. The following persons having applied for one or both of sections 3 and 4, block V., Tuapeka West, will proceed to ballot on Saturday next : — Richard Moore, P. Spiers, John Eeughan, Hugh M'Millan, John Fonsonby, J. Buchanan, Francis Nicoll, David M'lntosh, and Thomas Nicolls. James Cowan aud Samuel Brown will ballot for section 13, block 1., Beaumont district, on the same date. '*$ The application of A. Alexander for section 41, block 111., Tuapeka West, was withdrawn. Robert Tubmari, Alexander Morrison, and and John Morrison will ballot for sections 5 and 13, block 1., Beaumont district. The application of John Morrison for section 32, block 1., Beaumont district, ■was refused, " his agent deciding to proceed with another application, and the two together being in excess of the allowed quantity. Samuel Brown withdrew his application for eection 13, block 1., Beaumont. Samuel Brown's application for section 4, block 1., Beaumont district, was granted ; section 5 is to be balloted for. The following were withdrawn : — William JoTmston for section 37, block III.; Tuapeka West ; A. T. Herbert for section 36, block 1., Beaumont district ; T. T. Herbert for sectiOn18, block 1., Beaumont district ; R. W. Humphrey for sections 1 and 2, block 1., Tuapeka West. Michael O'Gorman's application for a residence area was objected to by Martin Joyce, for whom Mr. Henderson appeared. The matter was adjourned, T. Tyler and Mrs. Tyler applied for residence areas south of block 111., Tuapeka West. — Granted.
