There wag a great demonstration on the reception of Forest, the explorer. The whole affair was a great success. The expenditure for the quarter ending September was £285 000, against £248,000 tor the correaponding quarter of last year, The public debt amounts to £2,800,000. The Hon. Thomas Elder has given £20,000 to the University, free from ali restrictions.
