(From our own Correspondent.) Dunedin, November 6. Re the hte trial of Dodson v. Macaudrew, Mr. Haggitb for the defendant today moved for leave to enter a nonsuit, pursuent to permission granted at the trial, on the grounds of , misdirection and admission of improper evidence etc. Madame Arabella Goddard has given two concerts at Nelson, which passed off with great dclat. A Kiverton telegram states that a son of Mr. Grant, of Waikivi was found dead thia morning under suspicious circumstances. The police communicated with the coronor, Dr. Monckton, who will hold an inquest to-morrow. The, Hydaspes with 400 immigrants has arrived at Auckland. There were eleven deaths on board from scarlatina. November 7, 9.46 a.m. At the inquest on the body of the child found near Mornington, the jury returned a verdict of wilful murder, against some person or persons unknown. The New Zealand Steam Navigation Co. have made an offer to the Govern-ment-to undertake the' collection and distribution of inter-Provincial mails in connection with the San Francisco service at £2000 a-year. The City of Melbourne is due at Auckland to-day with the English mail.
