Sir Hercules by Cap-a-pie, out of Paraguay ; his dam, Nora Creina, chestnufe mare, imported from Ireland to Canterbury by Mr. Godfrey ; Sir Hercules, bred by Mr. Smith, New South Wales, purchased by Mr. Redwood, and brought to Nelson, together with his daughters Flora and Zoe. Stock of Sir Hercules have been the most successful on the turf in New Zealand as well as in Australia, viz. — Barbelle, Potentate, f Phcebe, Wetsail, and Miss Rowc ; also tho present celebrated sires I'be Barb, Taragon, and Yattendon, which, as race horses and sires, hare proved themselves the best in New South Wales. BiFLEMAif has proved a sure foal-getter, and as a sire of weight-carrying hacks and carriage horses, which for durability and stylo stand unrivalled, and his stock have commanded tho highest price in Canterbury.
