Dctnbdin, September 19, 9 10 a.m. Considerable excitement was created in town last night, consequent on a telegram received from Cromwell to the effect that Mr. Logan, manager of the Cromwell Go's, reef, Bendigo, had mysteriously disappeared on the road between Cromwell and the reef. It is reported that he left Perrian's Hotel, Lowburn Hill, at past eleven o'clock on Thursday night on the road to the reefs. The horse and buggy were found on the Cromwell side of the punt which crosses the Clutha. There was blood found inside the buggy. About a mile on the Cromwell side of Taggart's Hotel, a pool of blood waa found, but Logan cannot be found anywhere. He had, on the previous evening taken down to Cromwell a cake of retorted gold weighing about 120UOZS. 12.10 pjn. A telegram just received from Cromwell states that Logan is all right.
