(From the Dnntdin Dailies. ) Wellington, June sth. In the Anglic an General Synod the following Bills were passed : — A Bill for making certain necessary alterations in the Organisation of the Church ; the Diocesan Courts' Bill ; and the New Lectionary Bill. It wot resolved that, in consequence of the paramount importance of religious instruction being afforded t© the young, the Synod expresses a hope that the Bishops and Synods of the various dioceses will do everything they can to secure the parochial clergy the privilege of imparting religious instriu tion iv Government day schools. It was also resolved to extend as widely as possible the sys tern of mutual insurance in regard to Church properties, provided that for the present no single risk be taken exceeding £500. Tho General Synod expects to close the session to-morrow. June 6th, At the last sitting of the General Synod it was resolved that steps should be taken without delay for the better endowment of the Bishopricß of Waipu and Dunedin. Regarding the celebration of marriage the Synod saw no good reason for making any formal alteration in the present usage of the Church. It was resolved that the next ordinary session of the General Synod should be held in Nelson in 1877. Auckland. June 6th. The French barque Charles Auguste has been wrecked in Torres Strait ; and the schooner Blue BeH wrecked while pearl j fishing.
