Mebceb reports for the week ending June 6,- 1874 (retail prices only) :—: — Fresh butter, in ± and 1 lb prints, Is 8d per lb ; second quality, Is 6d to Is 7cl per lb; fresh butter in lumps, Is 4d per lb ; sweet and powdered butter, Is 6d per lb ; salt butter in kegs, Is 3d per lb, but not much asked after, excepting orders. The supply of fresh butter- has fallen off very considerably this week; Best cheese, lOd to Is per lb j second quality and old cheese unsaleable. Side and rolled bacon, lOd to Is per lb ; celonial ham, Is to Is 2d per lb ; English ham very slow of sale at Is 6d per lb, and a good many in the market. Eggs, although still scarce, are not much in demand at 3s 6d per dozen,
