I)ERMANENT BUILDING SOCIETi OF OTAGO. ■ This Society has been formed by an alien* tion of the Constitution of the Second N»« Zealand Building and Mutual Investmen Society, 1864. "; By its Constitution it is able % to tranuct every description of business usually undertaken by Building Societies, both on the terminating and the permanent principle. Two Series of Shares on the terminating system are at present io force— one dating from February, 1864, and the other fron\ February, 1870. The Society has the power to start new series of Buch shares at any timf when it may appear advisable. \ Two New Series of Shares, called Shares Q Class A and Class B in the Permanent Serie^ are now being issued. : Shares in Class A are of the amount of twenty-five pounds each, the principal being paid up in one sum. On these half-yearly dividends are paid at the rate of nine per cent* per annum, and an annual bonus out of ths surplus profits. They may be withdrawn »* any time on three months' notice, and form the most eligible investment for surplus funds: now to be found in the money market. - Shares in Class B are of twenty-five poundi each, and will be realised after seventy-fin monthly payments of five shillings each hart been made. The holders of them will also b» entitled to a bonus on realisation, equal to • proportionate share of the surplus profits of the Society during the period ever whioh the monthly payments have run. ■ The moneys of the First and Second Serial are advanced to Shareholders on mortgage d freehold or leasehold properties, or upon SharM in the Society wholly or in part paid up. Tht amounts available for advance are sold by auction at the monthly meetings to the highed bidder, who, from the date of the advance, pays a redemption fee of 10s. per month fix each L6O Share advanced until the termin* tion of the Series. Moneys of the Permanent Series are lent on similar securities, repayable by month!/ instalments extending over a £ied number ok years.
