The bidding throughout was spirited ; the only horses withdrawn from sale were Young Watty, bid up to £230, withdraw at £350, and carriage pair of mares, bid up to £60, withdrawn at £100. The auctioneers may here remark that the vendors only bid twice throughout the sale — viz., for Young Watty and carriage mares ;" a case unprecedented at such a large and important sale, ■which, the public will justly appreciate.

Grain. — At our sale by auction on Monday, we sold 309 bags barley, at 45. ; 48 bags wheat, at 4s, 3£d. ; '40 bags old wheat, 3s. 6d. ; and 8 bags of seed wheat at 4s. 6d. per bushel, delivered at our stores, Milton, and 150 bags wheat, afc 4s. Id. ; and 80 bags oats, at 3s. Bd. per bushel, purchaser taking delivery at Waihola. Hew bags, Is. 3d., old bags at Is. each.
