TfITtTBSDAT, 30th APBIt,. Present : The Chief Commissioner (in the chair), and Messrs. Strode, Butterworth, Bastings, and Clarke. ' TABLfi SILL. Mr. W. J. Dyer applied for a re-hearing of James Pettigrew's application for sections 23, 24, and 44, block IV., Table Hill. The consideration of this matter was adjourned for a week. GREENVALE. Mr. Connell, of Connell and Moodie, on behalf of Mr. James Logan, requested the Board to ask the opinion of the Attorney-General, or to state a case to the Judge of the Supreme Court, as to the position of the contract between the Board and Mr. Logan, ci'eated by Mr. Logan's application to purchase sections 1 to 9, and 21 to 25, block ILL, Greenvale, approved'by the Board. The Chief Commissioner left his seat while the matter was discussed. The Board decided that a case might be prepared by the applicant to submit to the At-torney-General, the case to be first sent to the Board for perusal. The applicant to pay all costs attendant upon such a case. ALEXANDRA. Mr. Duncan Robertson applied to purchase eight acres,including the Balmoral Hotel, near Alexandra, under clause 85 of the Act. The Board decided that they had no power to grant the application without the consent of the runholder. HILLEND DISTRICT. A petition was read against the sale of section 46, block 11., in this district ; and the Board decided to withdraw the land from sale. WAIPORI RIVER. John Lawson applied for a saw-mill lease of 160 acres on the above river. It was decided that the lease should be deposited before the land was surveyed. WAIKAIA RIVER. Mr. J. N. Wood applied to purchase 320 acres on the east side of this river, under clause 36. The application was referred to the Chief Surveyor for his advice generally. GLENKENICH. Mr. Bradshaw, on behalf of Mr. Ralph Allan, applied for protection to prospect for coal on sections 12, 14, and 16, block VII., Glenkenich. • The apjjlication was complied with. run 254. Mr. Thomas Murray, through Messrs. Gillies and Street, applied to be allowed to purchase 50 acres ou the above run. The application was referred to the Chief Surveyor for his advice. The Board then adjourned.
