Capstick, Duthie, and Capstice report for the weekending Saturday, 25th April, as follows :—: —

Grain. — We hear of small pjircel3 having been sold to millers at 4s 3d, and one parcel of Tuscan at 4s 6d per bushel. Barley and oats are not coming forward very freely — producers holding back, only selling small parcels of 50 or 60 bags.

Meeceb reports for the week ending 25th April (retail prices only) : — Fresh butter, in prints, best quality, Is 4d to Is 5d per lb"; do., second quality, Is 3d td Is 4d per lb ; do., in lumps, Is 3d per lb ; prime salt butter, Is 3d per lb ; cheese, Is per lb ; side and rolled bacon, lid to Is per lb ; colonial hams, Is 2d to Is 3d per lb ; English hams, Is 7(1 to Is 8d per lb ; eggs are very scarce, and selling at 2s 6d per doz. Fresh butter is continuing very plentiful, notwithstanding a slight rise in price" has taken place lately, in consequence of which a number of tho grocers are salting down their surplus stock.

Mr Bradshaw Dunedin reports the following transactions on Saturday : — National Insurance Co. nlmrta, £1 130 to £1 13s 6d : Standard Insurance Co. shares, 16s 6d to 17s; National Bank of New Zealand, £3 13s ; South British Insurance Co. shares, £2 11s. Buyers of Water Works Co. shares, £16 ; Fiji Bank shares, £2 14s ; National Insurance Co. shaves, £1 12s 6d .to £1 12s.
