The manager of the Gabriels Gnlly Q, M. Co. informs us that through the courtesy of Messrs. Thompson he is enabled to state the result of the trial crushing made last Thursday at tho company's battery. Tlie out-turn from 2£ tona was sozs. retorted gold, or at the rate of 2 ounces to the ton. This quartz was obtained from Messrs.. Thompson's claim on the flat on the line of the Waipori Quartz Mining Co/s reef, south. Messrs. Thompson have bared 100 feet of the cap of the reef on the flat, at about 4 feet below the surface, and the quartz was taken promiscuously from the crown of the reef downwards to a depth of 12 feet.
