WARDEN'S COURT, ROXBURGH,
Tuesday, April 7. '(Before W. L. Simpson, Esq., War-den.) E. Manuel made application for an expended claim and extension of headrace, which was granted, provided a proper culvert would be constructed across the road. Henry Dunt's application for a tailrace at Wattle Gully was granted. Martinelli and Co.'s application for a tail*ace at Waikaia was granted. G-. Gardon and W. Fielding's application iot protection of extended claim at Waikaia was granted. Foster and Geith's application for an extended claim of two acres at Campbells •Gully. Granted, JohnM'Lachlan's application for a claim at Waikaia was granted. This application was objected to by Norman Ross, Avho had bought the claim from Macaulay and M'Don"»ld, but his Worship stated that as the claim had been proved to be abandoned, his only Remedy was to proceed against Macaulay and M'Donald for damages. John M'Lachlan made application for a 'tailrace. This Avas objected to by George Duigan, who- said if the tailrace was constructed it would interfere materially with the working of his race and dam. The Warden *said it was a matter for compensation, and must be referred to arbitration in the usual way before he could grant the application. Martin and Broad*s application for an extended claim was granted. John Guilson's application for an extended •claim at Waikaia was granted.
