DISTRICT COURT, LAWRENCE

(Before His Honor Judge Gray) Thursday, 19th March. In the matter of the Beaumont and Tuapeka Water Race Company (Registered), and in the matter of the petition of Michael Monaghan against James Harris and William Hayes. Mr. Mouat for tho petitioner ; Mr. M'Coy for the respondents. His Honor had for some time delayed giving judgment, with a view of the parties coining to a settlement. He now reviewed the facts of the case, and pointed out that a fair adjustment could be made between the parties, indicating, for the assistance of the parties, what he would consider to be such. The respondents, however, would not accept any terms that were also acceptable to the petitioner. Petition dismissed, without costs.
