WASTE LANDS BOARD.
The usual weekly meeting of 'this Board was held yesterday . morning. Present-: A. C. Strode, Esq., m the chair, and Messrs. Keid. Butterworth, and Clark. TAPANTJT rBOGBB3S COMMITTED. This body requested that a sale of Crqwn lands, advertised totake place in the Glenkenicb District, on the 10th instant, should be held at Tapanui, instead of at Lawrence. They also asked that the balloting for deferred payment sections should be held at Tapanui instead of at Lawrence, Resolved — Not to grant tile first request, as sufficient "notice had not been given; the'second request -could not be granted, as the law would not -allow it. The Committee also-requested that section 12, 13, and 16, block 7, Glenkenich, -sdould be reserved for coal. The application wss complied with. JSTTBICK. The Board then proceeded to consider a reMjuest that the -unsold sections at Efctrick should all be advertised for sale at the next auction there, and also that 30 more sections should beJaid off. -Both these requests had b«en agreed to by the GorenttnantH J T lt was decided that, the unsold sections should be tilgsjjgsssi fm sale. . ' at a rental of £20 per annum for the first two years, '£40 ' Tor the following" three- -yeirs^ and £80 .for the remainder of the. 2l, years' lease. , An application was heard from J. Michael, for a lease of section 16. block XIX., Tuatoeka East., It was decided to put up the land to auction aa land of special value, on .account of improvements, upset price 21s. per mere, improvement* to be valued. BOASD O* ENQUIRY. A tetter was read from Mr. Margetts, declining to mi the office of member of the Board of Enquiry for the Lawrence district. Resolved to ask the Board to suggest the name of a suitable person. The Board then adjourned.
