Correspondence EVANS FLAT SCHOOL.
(To the Editor.) Sic, — Understanding that Mr. Harraway feels aggrieved at my not waiting upon him to receive his explanation with respect to tenders publicly called for the erection of school buildings for the Evans Flat School Committee, I have to state that I did not request a private explanation. Tenders were publicly called for, and I believe two or three were lodged with the Committee, and I suppose rejected. Fresh tenders were then called for, and I am certain that ono was lodged. After all this, the job was given to a party who personally informed me that they did not publicly tender for it. If Mr. Harraway considers this an open and straightforward way of spending public money, I don't. — I am, &c, Builder.
