Clydesdale Entire Horses. fTIHE Celebrated Imported Pure Clydesdale J. Entire Horse IVANHOE, Will travel this season in the Mount Benger and surrounding districts. Ivanhoe is a dark bay, standing over 17 hands high, bred by the Duke of Hamilton, and imported direct from Scotland by the New Zealand Land Company. His sire, Sir Walter Scott, gained the first prize at the Highland Agricultural Society's Show at Dumfries in 1860, the first prize in Glasgow in 1801 f and at the lloynl Agricultural Show, open to all Britain> held at liattersea in 1802, he also took first honors. His dam, Maggy, gained the first prize as a three-year-old at the Highland Society's Show in 1862, and at the same bliow in the same year gained the second prize in the class of all-aged mares, and the first prize as the best bred mare dt the same show in 1863. Ivanhoe has au excellent temper and magnificent action. He has shown himself a sure stock-getter, nearly all the mares served last season having proved in foal. Terms :— One mare, £6 Gs. ; two mares, £11 11s. ; three or more. £5 ss. each. Also, The Tasmanian bred pure Clydesdale Entire SIR COLIN. Sib Colin is a rich roan, 17 hands high, and of unrivalled bone and action. Sir Colin is by the celebrated Sir Colin Campbell, imported direct to Tasmania. Sir Coliu Campbell is by Glenelg, bred by j Mr. Tait, Bantfslfire, the winner of many prices, and the sire of 140 prize colts and fillies. Grandsire, Lofty, who was never beaten, and took £244 in prizes. Dam, a 1 pure Clydesdale mare bred by the Earl of Seafield out of his favorite mare Hetsy, winner of numerous prizes. Sir Colin's dam took first honors at Strath Bogie, and also at the Duke of Richmond's show, iv the latter case with foal .at foot,, competing against all mares with or without foals, and was afterwards imported to Tasmania. Terisis :— One mare, £5 ss. ; two or more, £4 4s. each. Also, the Provincial bred Clydesdale Entire ROYAL CHARTER. Royal Charter is a rich mottled bay, standing over sixteen hands high, rising 3 year old, of great bone and substance, and most docile temper ; bred by the wellknown breeder Robert Chartres, Esq., by the famous Clydesdale entire Emperor, the property cf the late Mr. Nimmo. iiovAt Charter's dam was the celebrated imported mare Polly, winner of t the first prize at the Taieri snow in 1872. Terms : — £4 4s. Groomage, ss. A well grassed and watered paddock provided, without responsibility. Any mare not proving in foal will be served next season, or half she money returned. Lancaster's, Beaumont, fortnightly. There will be an accommodation paddock at Crookston Hotel, Beaumont, for mares, at Is. per week during the season for each mare, AU care taken, but no responsibility. Lord Paisley was bred by John Barr, Esq., Clutha, and is a beautiful black, rising 7 years old, and stands 1G hands 2 inches high. His sire, Lord Paisley, was imported from Scotland by P»obert Miller. Esq , Taieri, in 1864. Dam, the mare Blanch, imported by David Nesbitt, Esq., from Tasmania, who took the first prizes at several society's shows, viz., Dunedin, Taieri, Tokomairiro, and Clutha, for the best mare of' symmetry in the yards. * Lord Paisley gained the first prize at the Clutha Society's Show in 18G8, and the first at Tokomairiro Show the same year, for the best three-year-old entire colt at his age. He also obtained the. silver medal at the Tokomairiro Show in 18(59 for the best colonial horse in the yard ; and has proved .himself a sure foal-getter. Young Tannahill. is a bright dapple bay, with black points, stands Ui\ hands high, has fine quality of bone, and good action, and is rising four years old. He has taken three prizes at the Taieri Show. His sire was t£e well-known horse Tannahill. His stock took the first prize at the Taieri Show three years in succession, and a filly got by him took the silver cup at Dunedin in lSb'7. His dam was imported from Tasmania by Mr. Nisbet, where she was a prize taker. Terms :— £3, pnyable. on or before February Ist, 1874.
