A goodly number of people assembled from Waipori and surrounding localities. The different events, as described below, were closely contested though none of the performances were very brilliant. Hynes. 4ft, 7in. was the highest Yavltinq — Ist prize, 305.5 2nd, £1. — Four competed. R. Tuckey, 1 ; James Henderson, 2. This was the best event of the day. The competition was very close, and upwards of an hour elapsed ere Tuekey was declared the winner, 7ft, Sin. was the highest jump. 200 Yaedb Foot Race — let prize, 3Os.i t 2nd» £I.— E. Tuckey, 1 ; Gh Smith, 2. 'TSW competed. This wa« a.clorse ace.
