Iva^oe is a dark bay, standing over 17 hands high, *bred by the Duke of Hamilton, and imported direc^fefrom Scotland by the New 2ealand Land Company. His-sire, Sir Walter Scott, gained the fist prize at the Highland Agricultural Society's Show at Dumfries in ISGO, the first prize in Glasgow in 1861, and at the Royal Agricultural Show, open to all Bri^in, held at Batterseain 1862, he also took first honors. His dam, Maggy, gained the first prke as a three-year-old at the Highland Society's Showin 1562, and at the same show in the same yeajj^gained the second prize in the class of all-aged mares, and the farst prize as the best bred mare at the same showin 1563.
