Messrs. Capstick, Duthie, and Capstice report as follows for week endnig22nd inst. — Store Cattle. — We sold during the week about 70 head at the following prices : — Good bullocks, £4 10s to £5 ; cows, £3 to £3 10s ; inferior cattle, £2. Store Sheep. — Good wethers are in demand at the following prices ; — Half-breds, 8s to 8s 6d ; merinos, 4s 6d to ss ; merino ewes, 4s 6d to 4s 9d. Wool. — Our sole advertised to be held on 20th inst. was postponed for another week, in .order to give the brokers an idea of the prices ruling in Dunedin, as the first wool sale there was to be held to-day. Grain. — The market at present is very quiet, especially in wheat, owing to the millers having bought their supplies at the beginning of the Beason. We quote wheat at 4s 6d to the oats, 3s lOd to 4s. A Meeceb reports for the week ending 20th December, retail prices only : — Fresh butter, in prints, best quality, 9d to lOd per lb ; second quality, 8d to 9d per lb ; fresh butter in lumps, 8d per lb ; new season's sa],t butter, 8d per lb j cheese, lOd to Is per lb ; side and rolled bacon, 9-d to lOd per lb ; beef hams, 7d to 8d per lb ; boiled beef hams, 9d per lb ; colonial hams, Is to Is 2d per lb ; English hams, Is 8d per lb ; eggs, Is 3,d per doz. New potatoes, 2d per lb.
