His dam, Maggy, gained the first prize as a three-year-old at the Highland Society's Show in 1862, and at the same show in the game year gained the second prize in the olass of all-aged mares, and the first prize as the best bred mare dt the same show in 1863. Sir Colin s dam took first honors at Strath Bogie, and also at the Cuke of Richmond's show, in the latter case with foal at foot,, competing against all marea with or without foals, and was after, .wards imported' to Tasmania. Dam, the mare Blanch, imported by David Nesbitt, Esq,, from Tasmania, who took the first prizes at several society's shows, viz., Dunedm, Taieri, Tokoiuairiro, and Clutha, for the best mare of symmetry in the yards. Lonp Paisley gained the first prise at the Clutha. Society's Show in 1868, and the first at Tokomairira Show the same year, for the beat three-.year*old entire colt at his age. He also obtained the silver medal at the Tokomairiro Show in 186.9 for the beat colonial horse in the yard j and has proved himself a suy© foal-getter.
