DUNEDIN RETAIL PRICES.
The " Daily Times " reports as follows :— The retail price of butchers meat is without alteration. Bacon, hams, and cheese have undergone no change. Eggs are rather scarce, but the price remains at Is 2d per daz. The best fresh buiter is 9d ; but an article just as r, which will not keep so long, is Bold at The eight-hour movement is likely to effect the price of bread. The 41b loaf brings s&d cash. Peas and potatoes are coming in more freely, and cabbages are in better supply. Old potatoes are still very good, and are preferable to the new from Melbourne, which have very little flavour* Twenty-eight pounds of old, or four pounds of new, are sold for Is. The Omeo has brought in fresh supplies on fruit, chiefly oranges and cherries. Some very fine strawberries have been brought in since our last report, -which sold at Is 6d to 2a per plate. Gooseberries and rhubarb are in better supply, the former selling at 3d. and the hitter at 4d per lb.
