Messrs J, and A. Maclean report, for the week ending the 27th Nov., as follows ss — •
Fat Cattle.— Tho market was again largely supplied on Wednesday, 130 head being yarded, principally medium quality, consequently prices were considerably easier. Our sales consisted of 32 head, on acoonn.t of Messrs. Peterson, Keenan, Andrews, and Gibson, which were sold at fair prices, viz., for bullocks, from £6. 10s to £10 ; cows, from £6 to £3 ppr head. We do not expect beef will bring more than 25s per lOOlbs now, except really prime quality, on account of the large number coming forward.
Fat Sheep, — About 100 were penned, which brought, for cross-breds, in wool, from 10s to 20s each ; shcr I, los 6d to 12s ; merinoa, in the wool, 14s each; shorn, 7s. We quote prime half-breds, in yqpol, 4d to 4£d per lb ; shorn 2d to 2id ; merinos, in wool, 3£d to 3 id ; shorn, 2d to 2id.
Fat Lambs. — 130 medium qnality came forward, and realised from 8s to 11b each, according to. age and condition. Store Cattlo. — Tho demand for good bullocks and cows, suitable for paddocks, still continues, and any lots brought forward meet with ready sale. At our raoniMy sale at the West Taieri Yards on Tuesday,thej2ltb. inst., with one exception, all tho lots offered were actively competed for, bullocks fetching from £5 to £6 10a ; cows and heifers, from £2 10s to £3 10, according to. breeding, size, and condition. >
Store Sheep- — We have, during, thjj, week, sold large lot 6, for delivery after shearing, at satisfactory prices, viz., 2000 6 and 8-tooth wether, for delivery in Southland, at 5s 6d eftfh ; 2000 8-tooth wethers, delivery Upper Waitaki, at 4e 6d- each; 2000 eroas-bred lambs, Waitaki, at ts 6cl each ; and iOObhalfbreds, at West Taieri monthly sale, at 20s each. At our sale at Mr. Alexander M'Grregor's farm, yesterday, we disposed of all his wethers and ci-oss-bred hpggeta, in wool, at current rates. We quote cross-breds, 2 and 4-tooth, from 8s to 9s ; cross-bred lambs, from 7s 6d to 8s ; merira wethers, 6 and 8-tooth. 5s to 5s 6J; merino ewes, from 33 to. 7s, accordiag to age, breeding, and place- of delivery.
Grain. — The market remains quiet, there are no large sales to note. Prime samples wheat are saleable from 5s 3d to 5s 6d ; medium, 4s 61 to ss ; inferior, 4s. During the last fortnight oats have been enquired for, and we quote prime milling at 4? 4d to 4s 6d ; good feed, 4s. 3d\
