Clydesdale Entire Horses. rpHE Celebrated Imported Pure Clydesdale X Entire Horse I V A N H O E , Will travel this season in the Mount Benger and surrounding districts. Ivanhoe is a dark bay, standing over 17 hands high, bred by the Duke of Hamilton, and imported direct from Scotland by the New Zealand Land Company. His sire, Sir Walter Scott, gained the first pme at the Highland Agricultural Society's Show at Dumfries in 1860, the first prize in Glasgow in 1861, and at the Royal Agricultural Show, open to all Britain, held at Batterseain 1862, he also took first honors. His dam, Maggy, gained the first prize as a three-year-old at the Highland Society's Show in 1862, and at the same show in the same year gained the second prize in the class of all-aged mares, and the first prize as the best bred mare <tt the same show in 1863. IvANHOEhas an excellent temper and magnificent action. He has shown himself a sure stock-getter, nearly all the mares served last season naving proved in foal. Terms :— One mare, £6 65. ; two mares, j £11 lls. ; three or more. £5. 55. each. Also, The Tasmanian bred pure Clydesdale Entire SIR COLIN. Sib Cocin is a rich roan, 17 hands high, and of unrivalled bone and action. Sir Colin is by the celebrated Sir Colin Campbell, imported direct to Tasmania. £ir Colin Campbell is by Glenelg, bred by Mr. 'fait, Banffshire, the winner of many prizes, and the sire of 140 prize colts and fillies. Grandsire, Lofty, who was never beaten, and took £244 in prizes. Dam, a pure Clydesdale mare bred by the Earl of Seafield out of his favorite mare Betsy, winner of numerous prizes. * Sir Colin's dam took first honors at-Strath Bogie, and also at the Duke of Bichmond's show, in the latter case with foal at foot., competing against all mares with or without foals, ana was after- I wards imported to Tasmania. Terms :— One mare, £5 55. ; two or more, £4 4s. each. i Also, ' The Provincial bred Clydesdale Entire ROYAL CHARTER. Boyal Charter is a rich mottled bay, standing over sixteen hands high, rising 3 year od, of great bone and substance, and most docile temper ; bred by the wellknown breeder Kobert Chartres, Esq., by the famous Clydesdale entire Emperor, the property cf the late Mr. Nimmo. Royal Charter's dam was the celebrated imported mare Polly, winner of the first prize at the Taieri show in 1872. Terms : — £4 4s. Groomage, ss. A well grassed and watered paddock provided, without responsibility. Any mare not proving in foal will be served next season, or half the money returned. THE CLYDESDALE ENTIRE HOJKSE LORD PAISLEY Will travel this season in the TUAPEKA, WAITAHUNA & 88-AUMONT DISTRICTS', Commencing on the Ist October, calling at Dale's, Waitahuna, and H. Lancaster's, Beaumont, fortnightly. There will be an -accommodation paddock at Crookston Hotel, Beaumont, for mares, at Is. per week during the season for each mare. All care taken, but no responsibility. Lord Paisley was bred by John Barr, Esq., Clutha, and is a beautiful black, rising 7 years old, and. stands 16 hands 2 inches high: His sire, Lord Paisley, was imported from Scotland by Robert Miller, Esq., Taieri, hi 1864. Dam, the mare Blanch, imported by David Nesbitt, Esq., from Tasmania, who took the first prizes at several society's shows, viz., Dunedin, Taieri, Tokomairiro, and Clutha, for the best mare of symmetry in the yards. Lokd Paisley gained the first prize at the Clutha Society's Show in 1868, and the first at Tokomairiro Show the same year, for the best three-year-old entire colt at his age. He also obtained the silver medal at the Tokomairiro Show in 1869 for the best colonial horse in the yard ; and has proved himself a sure foal-getter. Terms : — £4; Groom's Fee, 55., to be paid at time of service. All fees to be paid on Ist February, 1874, or £5 will be charged after that date. YOTJXG TANNAHILL is a bright dapple bay, with black points, stands 16£ hands high, has fine quality of bone, and good action, and is rismg four years old. He has taken three prizes at the Taieri Show. Hi 3 sire was t£e well-known horse Tannahill. His stock took the first prize at the Taieri Show three years in succession, and a filly got by him took the silver cup at Dunedin fehow in 1867. His dam was imported from Tasmania by Mr. Nisbet, Where sho woo a priao taker. Terms : — £3, payable on or before February Ist, 1874. Groom's Fee, ss. SMELLIE AND YOUNG, ' Proprietors, East Taieri. mHE CLYDESDALE ENTIRE HORSE - 1 - YOUNG WALLACE Will travel this season in the TEVIOT, MOA FLAT, MILLERS FLAT, & SPEARGRASS FLAT DISTRICTS - Young Wallace is a dark, dapple bay. stands 16£ hands high, is 6 years old, and is by the impoited horse Sir William Wallace, out of a pure-bred Clydesdale mare. * Yodng Wallace has proved himself a sure foal -getter, and his stock in the Tuapeka district are very promising. Terms : — £4, payable at the end of the season ; Groom's Fee, 55., to be paid at first service. All fees to be paid on the Ist February, 1874, qr £1 extra will be charged after that date. | R.
