BEAUMONT AND TUAPEKA WATER RACE COMPANY.

( To the Editor. ) Sib, — The Directors of the Beaumont and Tuapeka Water Race Company do not appear to me to be bringing much practical wisdom to bear upon their actions. They advertised for a manager some weeks ago, and I boliere received two applications from eligible gentlemen ; but instead of deciding to, accept the one or the other, they fix- upon a salary, and again advertise. A meeting is called for a certain day to open the applications, but owing to some .cause or other the meeting lapses. I think it is time the shareholders took some steps to bring the directors to book for their extraordinary conduct in the management of the affairs of this company since it was started. The shareholders have not the slightest idea as to how the money has been expended, and indeed more than one of the directors of whom I have mode enquiry appeared to me in a complete fog about the whole affair. I would suggest that a meeting of shareholders bo convened at the earliest possible date, and that a ' statement of the various transactions of the directors since the formation of the company be submitted to such meeting. Such action would at least restore confidence in tho company — a thing wbicli very few people seem to have at the present time, — I am, &c., A Shareholder.
