(By Electric Telegraph.) Wellington, Sept. 29. As expected, the Upper House have thrown out all the Provincial Borrowing Bills. The Q-overnment held a meeting of their supporters this morning, at which they announced they were not prepared to take the stand threatened by Yogel a few days ago, but thought, as the session was so far advanced, it was not desirable to legislate further on that question until the next meeting of the General Assembly. Yogel has just finished. Ministerial Statement. ~Ho advises constituents through their Provincial Councils to express themselves on the action of the Upper House, with a view to ifs reform. Pyke is now replying to Yogel in a violent speech, condemning the action of the Government in receding from the position taken up by them a few days ago, The Bill to enable Clyde Municipality to borrow £8000, to erect a bridge over the Clutha, was thrown out. The management of the Construction of the Waipori Drainage channel has been handed over to the Provincial Government, with instructions to commence work immediately. The Assembly will be prorogued on Friday. The session has been a very unsatisfactory one. Over 170 Bills have been introduced. October 1. The Assembly voted yesterday, under the heading of "Judicial," £1200 in addition to land sale for Lawrence Court-house ; Dunedin, £10,000 ; Naseby, £300. Under the heading of " Postal," the estimates include Roxburgh, £300 ; Alexandra, £300; Tokomairiro, £1025. The Southland Land Bill passed through the Upper House, affirming deferred payment system same as Ofcago, at 255. per acre ; unsold land within present hundreds at 20s. per acre ; a special block of agricultural land at 40s. per acre. Mr. Fitzherbert, last evening, very ably reviewed th,o session, and strongly condemned the vacillating policy of the Government. Yogel replied in a very tame speech, saying that the Government wore guided bj their supporters. The G-overnment is very weak — many of its l.ito ardent supporters having left it. Assembly will be prorogued tomorrow.

Tokomaieiro, Oct. 1, 3.20 p.m. There was a large attendance of people at the horse show to-day, which was held in the Commercial Yards. There were seventeen horses shown. The prize? wera awarded as follows : — Clydesdales : A. M'Laren's Young Watty, Ist ; Hamilton's Marquis, 2nd ; Blues and Duthie's Young Major, 3rd. Blood horses : Carson's Stormbird, Ist; Waters' Young Leotard, 2nd. Mr. Capßtiek offered several of them for sale, but they were all withdrawn.
