SPECIAL TELEGRAMS.
. (from our own correspondent.) Wellington, September, 29th. Mr Fitzherbert, Mr Bunny, Mr Pyke, and a number of the other ordinary supporters of the Government, refused to attend the caucus to-day it having leaked, out that the Government in the Cabinet on Saturday had resolved to let matters remain as they are. It is said that, Mr Yogel strongly urged more decisive action being taken, and resignation rather than submission, but that ho was overruled. A numbor of members who have heretofore supported the Government are inteuscly disgusted. Only 35 attended the caucus, and not above half voted for Mr Macaudrew's proposal, that things be allowed- to remain as they are for the present, but that during the recess the Government should prepare a measure for the reconstruction of the Council. Mr llarriaon urged the Government to at least ask the House to affirm this by resolution, but they refused to do so. Mr Macandrew left in the Alambra today, and a number of other -members leave to-morrow. The prorogation is exto take place on Thursday.
