WARDEN'S COURT, LAWRENCE.

(Before E. H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) Wednesday, 27th August. The following applications for agricultural leases were granted, subject to the payment of the first half-year's rent : — Robert Chalmers, sections 31 and 62, block 11., Table Hill ; James B. Chalmers, sections 29 and 30, block 11., Table Hill ; George Murray, section 34, block VI., Tuapeka West; William Cameron, section 75, block If., Table Hill ; John Galbraith, section 50, block VI., Tuapeka East. The application of Jamea Chalmers for agricultural lease of section 55, block V., Tuapeka East, and that of James Leslie for lease of section 78, block VII, and section 9, block VI., Waitahuna East, were postponed for one month, the surveys not having been completed. ■ Charles Jansen'a application for section 34, block VI , Tuapeka West, was objected to by James Keppel, and adjourned for one week. James Foreman and Thomas Bell applied for an extended* claim of two acres at Balljirat Hill, Wetherstones. Granted. Fun See and other Chinamen applied for leave to divert the Tuapeka River. Granted, subject to non-interference with existing rights. James Graham applied on behalf of the Beaumont and Tuapeka Water Race Co. for right to extend their race to the Molyneux, distance about 20 miles. Granted. Tung See, Ah Tong and others applied for tail race and dams on the Tuapeka river, which were granted. Horace L. Squires applied on behalf of the Gabriels Gully Quartz Mining Co., Registered, for an extended claim in Gabriels Gully. Granted. Mr. Squires also applied for a tail race, which was objected to by Jeremiah O'Leary as being injurious to a road made by him. Adjourned, to enable the Warden to visit the ground. The application of Thomas Cleary for residence area was refused, being situate within block XIX., Tuapaka East.
