For some time past we have contemplated a bi-weekly issue of the TuAPEIfA Times. Such a step cannot be taken without incurring considerable additional expense, so much so that, although satisfied the proposed change would be a great boon to our readers and the public generally, we have not committed ourselves to the experiment without mature thought and consideration. We have to announce that, in a few weeks, as soon as we obtain the necessary material from Melbourne, we shall oome out biweekly ; the prioe of the paper will not, however, be more than at present, as the oosfc will be reduced to threepence per issue, thus giving our subscribers the bi-weekly issue at the same figure now charged. We trust that as an advertising medium the Tuapeka Times, already second to none in the province, will so greatly improve in circulation and otherwise, as to warrant us in continuing the bi-weekly issue. These are days of progress, and we have no fear as to the result of our venture. We are satisfied th^t there is a groat future in store for the Otago goldfields, of which the Tuapeka district takes the leading position. While striving to make the Tuapeka TiMESa commercial success for our own sakes, we are just as anxious to make it profitable to our readers, and a power of good in the community upon whioh we rely for support. While writing of ourselves, we have to. thank the public for the large measure of patronage we have received, and which has enablecl us. to decide upon the increased publication now announced ; and we feel confident that we will by this, act command that reciprocal consideration which is essential to success.
