(To the Editor.) Sib, — In his issue of the sth inst., the editor of the above-named journal delivers himself of a leader, the sentiments contained in which are expressed in such vulgar language, and the statements made are so utterly untrue, that it is quite beneath me and wholly unnecessary to do more than reprobate the one and deny the truth of the other. To every right-thinking mind the leader in question will produce no other feeling than that of disgust, no matter to what denomination the individual may belong. I write this ,to ask -the editor of the " Bruce Herald" one question, viz., Why cannot he, and those who think with him (they are few, I am thankful to say), let the Church of England alone ? She is quite able to take care of herself, as she has amply demonstrated by her splendid and almost unparalleled progress in Otago during the last two or three years. Even if the editor of the ''Bruce Herald" was of the Church of England, his observations would be sufficiently impertinent ; but as he is not of the establishment, he might have the decency to mind his own business. The gratuitous inaults offered by him to the Church at large, and to our revered and valued prelate (Dr. Neville,) in particular, are beneath contempt, and consequently call for no further comment. — I am, &c, Paema.
