WARDENS' COURT, LAWRENCE.

(Before E. H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) Wenesday, 16th July. The application of James Downes for an agricultural lease of section 60, block 111., Tuapeka East, was adjourned, to enable the Warden to communicate with the Government thereon. Charles Jensen's application for a residence area near the Tuapeka river was refused, being within the mining reserve, William Smellie's application for an agricultural lease of section 2, block IV., Waitahuna East wa3 adjourned for one week to procure survey. Henry Galbraith's application for section 2, block XI I., Tuapeka East, was objected to by the Secretary of the Waitahuna Miners' Association, on the ground that valuable scrub existed on the land applied for. The applicant stated that when marking off the land he could with difficulty find sticks four feet in length for the purpose. Mr. Adams, surveyor, also stated he had not seen any scrub of value on or near the land. Adjourned to enable the Warden to inspect the land on Monday, the 21st inst. George Bartlett's application for an agricultural lease of section 1, block VI., Waitahuna East, was granted. John M'Rae applied for an agricultural lease of section 12, block 11. Adjourned for survey to 13th August. John Blair's application for an agricultural lease of section 58, block V., Tuapeka East, was granted. Mr. Mouat, for Robert Grieve, asked for a new summons to issue against J. M'Douall. Granted. The charge of A. Blewitt against Ah Mcc for mining without a license was, by permission of the Warden, withdrawn. Alexander M'lntyre's adjourned application for an agricultural lease of section 24, block VI., Tuapeka West, was granted, subject to the line of race of the Beaumont and Tuapeka Water Race Co. Thomas Brougham's (Wa^pori) applied for lease of section 2, block XIV., 9 acres 0 roods 14 poles, Tuapeka East. Certificate granted on payment of two half year's lease.
